DUI penalties
Just because you may not be from Arizona, does not mean you are not going to be held accountable according to Arizona law. The consequences can be dire and you need the right attorney.
For example, the minimum sentence for a first offense DUI conviction (impairment or a BAC between 0.08% and 0.149%) is a mandatory sentence between 1-10 days in jail and significant fines. In addition, a DUI conviction can also mandate the implementation of an ignition interlock device. The maximum sentence can be 180 days in jail.
An extreme DUI conviction (BAC between 0.150% and 0.199%) can subject a person to a minimum of 30 days in jail, significant fines, and the installation of an ignition interlock device and a maximum of 180 days in jail, thousands of dollars in fines, and an ignition interlock device.
Will this affect my license at home?
You may be from another state, but your right to drive in your home state and Arizona may be in jeopardy or affected in some way in accordance with state laws. If you are convicted of a DUI in Arizona, there is a good chance that you will be subject to a license suspension, points on your license and higher insurance premiums.
